Floor sanding in Sale and across Cheshire
If your floor has never been renovated, it may still have some Victorian shellac (the thick black stuff usually around the edges of the floor), which quickly clogs the sanding pads. Firstly, we carry out sanding with a very coarse-grade paper to remove any old finishes as well as dents and pits in the wood surface. Next, we prepare the surface by lightly sanding with a medium-grade paper. Finally, a fine-textured sand paper is used to remove the tiniest of imperfections, leaving a smooth, silky surface. The floor may then be stained to change the floor colour and sealed with either varnish or lacquer, or oil.
